Hi, I’m Shannon!
I’m an educator and a mom. I’ve spent 14 years in Arizona schools, including 10 as a school leader, and I hold a Master’s in Educational Administration. I’ve sat with parents at enrollment tables and walked so many families through school tours.
On those tours, I always noticed the same thing. Parents came in with so much heart and care, wanting to make the right choice. They just weren’t always sure what to look for.
I know this decision from the parent side too. As a mom, I’ve used everything I know as an educator to choose schools for my own kids. Now I want to share that knowledge with every family, so you can make the best decision for your child and your family. That’s why I created Heart & Mind.

I’m not paid by any school, and I’ll never steer you toward one. Whether you’re looking at district, charter, private, or something in between, my only goal is helping you find the right fit for your child.

Every child and every family is wonderfully unique, and the right school should reflect that.
Who This Is For
Arizona families of little ones, usually ages two to eight, who are starting to explore schools or thinking about a change in the early grades. This includes families of children with IEPs, 504s, or other learning needs who want to know how to find a school that truly welcomes their child.
Most families I hear from aren’t looking for a ranking or a quick answer. They want clarity, a little perspective, and an educator to think it through with.
